Lance Ranzer/ Founder/ VFX Supervisor

Born in Brooklyn, New York and raised in Orlando, Florida, Lance attributes his early passion for movie making to the original Star Wars films he watched as a young boy.  He continued his dream at the University of Central Florida where he earned a double bachelor’s degree in Computer Animation and Visual Effects. 

After moving to Los Angeles in 2004 to pursue his career, Lance worked as a compositor and paint/roto artist for numerous studios including CafeFX, Digital Domain, Method Studios and Pixomondo.  His extensive resume includes working as a paint/roto supervisor on Pirates of the Caribbean, Fast and the Furious, Oblivion, Transformers, Star Trek, as well as working as a visual effects supervisor for the TV show The Walking Dead.  Lance was an artist on the team winning both the BAFTA and Academy Award for Best Visual Effects for the film The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and a paint/roto supervisor for the team who won an Academy for Hugo.

In 2017, Lance took his unique and vast experience as a supervisor and artist and opened his own boutique visual effects studio.  Rogue One VFX specializes in paint, match-move and 2D compositing for commercials, film and TV.

When he is able to step away from running the company, he enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife and two young children.  Lance is an avid rock climber and also enjoys hiking, camping, snow boarding or working on house projects.

The mission of Rogue One VFX is to beat competitor bids while delivering photo-realistic shots within deadline constraints.  Rogue One is proud to have only the top freelance compositors and paint artists at hand specializing in 2D compositing. - Rogue One artists have the skills to "Fix It In Post."
